The state government foresees billionaire investments in the field of renewable energies, such as wind energy and solar energy.
The Secretariat for Economic Development (SDE), of the Government of Bahia, highlighted the signing of protocols that will generate many investments in the state. The secretary informed that 37 protocols of intentions were signed with the state in this first quarter. They foresee investments of up to BRL 5,2 billion, generating thousands of jobs. Most of the investments will be for wind energy and solar energy projects.
João Leão, deputy governor of Bahia and secretary of the portfolio, highlighted the good technology that the negotiation has in the state: “Despite the pandemic, work around here hasn't stopped. I believe that the state's healthy business environment and stable economy have allowed us to continue attracting good business. I emphasize that the internalization of investments continues to be a priority for the government of Bahia".
He also pointed out that around 86% of the investments, that is, job vacancies, will go to cities in the interior of the state, which are the most needy. Last year, 76% of these investments were also for the interior of the state.

The Bahian government informed that the Electricity and Gas sector is what has been contributing the most to the development of the interior of the state, benefiting a total of 42 municipalities, bringing jobs and income to the population. The ventures have incentives from the state government to help develop semi-arid cities.
Job vacancies will be generated with investments in the interior of the state of Bahia
Investments are on the rise, due to large investments in clean and sustainable energy. Of the signed projects, a total of R$ 4,5 billion are in this area. The cities of Xique-Xique e itaguaçu, further inland, will receive a total of 14 wind energy projects. There will also be a total of six solar energy projects in Juazeiro. Together, the projects will generate a total of 2,5 indirect jobs during construction.
The State of Bahia currently has a total of 438 projects that are being monitored. They were signed in recent years, generating a total of R$71,2 billion in investment, which resulted in a total of 54,3 direct job openings. Of the total amount, around 90 projects are in clean energy, such as wind energy and solar energy. Investments of R$ 40 billion are expected in the sector in the coming years, generating thousands of job openings in Bahia.
