The Paula Souza Center (CPS), an agency of the Government of São Paulo, offers a range of 19 free online courses. Linked to the Secretary of Science, Technology and Innovation (SCTI), CPS manages State Technical Schools (Etecs) and Technology Colleges (Fatecs). With durations ranging from 6 to 50 hours, these trainings are provided in the MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) format.

Simplified Registrations and Dynamic Content

Anyone interested can register and start studying immediately, without needing to pass selection tests. The process is simple: just access the website mooc.cps.sp.gov.br, create an account with login and password, and there are no limits on availability. The courses feature dynamic content, including texts, video lessons, and exercises. Most courses offer completion certificates to approved participants.

Exploring the Digital World: New Courses Highlighted by the Government of São Paulo

Digital Portfolios: Valuing Visual Art

For visual art professionals seeking greater exposure in the digital world, CPS offers the new course on Digital Portfolios. Lasting 10 hours, the classes cover the preparation, hosting, and effective promotion of an online portfolio. Tips on tools for incorporating images and illustrations are also highlighted, adding value to the participants’ work.

Ethics and Citizenship: Raising Awareness

Another significant addition is the course on Ethics and Citizenship, aimed at raising awareness of some important ethical norms. With 50 hours divided into eight classes, techniques to consolidate ethical values in personal and professional routines will be explored. Topics such as workplace ethics, copyright, and citizenship are addressed, promoting a comprehensive view of the importance of these aspects in contemporary society.

Growing Popularity and Reflections of the Digital Age

Since its launch in 2015 by the Distance Education Study Group (GEEaD), the CPS MOOC platform has attracted over 695 thousand registered users. The most sought-after course, with over 100 thousand participants, is People Management. The flexibility of the teaching model and the increased use of the internet in recent years are factors driving the high demand for these free online courses.

Online Microcourses: Quick and Efficient Knowledge

An alternative for those looking to enhance their knowledge quickly is the free online microcourses that CPS offers. Featuring simple language, these courses provide a basic overview of various new topics. Highlights include “Success on Social Media,” “How to Research on the Internet,” “Combating Fake News,” “Cryptocurrencies,” and “Why We Procrastinate.” These options reflect CPS’s commitment to meeting educational demands in an innovative and accessible manner.
