Elon Musk Announces Starlink Donations After Reposting Gisele Bündchen Video to Help Rio Grande do Sul
Elon Musk, the visionary CEO of SpaceX and Starlink, recently took a significant step in response to the cries for help from Rio Grande do Sul, affected by a severe emergency situation. Starlink, known for its innovations in satellite internet, announced the donation of 1,000 terminals to the emergency teams in the state. This gesture was publicized after Musk reposted a video from supermodel Gisele Bündchen, who detailed the devastation in her hometown and called for global support.
Starlink, one of the leading satellite internet providers in Brazil, has been active in the country since 2022, covering vast areas, including 90% of municipalities in the Legal Amazon, according to data from the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel).
Given the terrible flooding in Rio Grande do Sul, @Starlink will donate 1000 terminals to emergency responders and make usage for all terminals in the region free until the region has recovered.

The support is not limited to just these tech companies and Gisele Bündchen. Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, also announced that his company will contribute to the relief efforts in Rio Grande do Sul. Apple, under the leadership of Tim Cook, joins this wave of solidarity that seeks to mitigate the impacts of the natural disaster that has already resulted in over 100 deaths, as well as hundreds missing and thousands displaced.
