Granel Química, Part of a Norwegian Group, Invests Over R$ 80 Million to Expand Its T1 Logistics Terminal in Maranhão
One of the largest companies for logistics and storage of liquid bulk and dry cargo in Brazil, Granel Química, will inaugurate on Thursday, March 24, the expansion of its Terminal 1, located at the Port of Itaqui, in the capital of Maranhão, São Luís. The expansion, which received an investment of R$ 85 million, will feature the addition of another 6 steel tanks, material affected by the conflict in Eastern Europe. Thus, the storage capacity of Terminal 1 will increase by approximately 30%, with a total equivalent to 96 thousand cubic meters (m³).
According to information provided by Granel Química, in addition to this terminal, it also owns another unit in Maranhão, the T2 logistics terminal. This unit is located near the port area of Itaqui, which received a high investment and has a storage potential of 50 thousand cubic meters, where both terminals are connected to enable joint operations. Thus, Granel Química has over 146 thousand cubic meters of installed storage capacity solely in Maranhão, fully aimed at meeting the demand in the region, which has been growing more and more.
As reported by the Broadcast website, Edson Souki, general manager of Granel Química, stated in a note that, following the multimillion investment in the logistics unit expansion project, the company generated over 250 direct and indirect job openings in Maranhão.

Tenege Completes Piling at Gas Sul Terminal, Which Will Have a Regasification Capacity of 15 Million Cubic Meters of LNG Per Day in SC
Initiated by Tenege in October 2021, the piling works at the anchorage terminal of the FSRU (Floating Storage Regasification Unit) of the Gas Sul Terminal (TGS), which will have a regasification capacity of 15 million cubic meters of LNG per day under construction in the Bay of Babitonga (SC), were completed on March 12, ahead of the deadline set in the project schedule. During this period, 85 piles ranging from 48 to 57 meters in length each were driven, totaling 4.68 kilometers of pipes and a total load of 1,470 tons. The services were completed within international quality specifications, with no accidents involving distancing.
