São Manuel Prepares to Welcome New Factory from Grupo Caio, With Potential for One Thousand Jobs and Historic Boost in Industrial Investments in the Transportation Sector in São Paulo’s Interior.

The municipality of São Manuel (SP) may receive one of the largest industrial investments in its history. Grupo Caio, a leader in the transportation and bodywork manufacturing sector, is in advanced negotiations to set up a new component factory in the city. The project foresees the creation of up to 1,000 direct jobs, with potential to further increase income generation and stimulate the local economy.

Project Involves Construction of Unit in a New Industrial Hub

The negotiations intensified after an official visit from the municipal delegation to the headquarters of Grupo Caio. The meeting, which included Mayor Ordilei Félix, Vice Mayor Gê Barros, and Secretary of Economic Development, Sérgio Roberto Nicoletti, aimed to present a concrete proposal for the installation of the unit in a strategic area of the municipality.

The new factory could occupy up to 20,000 square meters of built area on a lot of approximately 100,000 square meters. The location is part of a new industrial hub under implementation, designed to attract large-scale investments and diversify the city’s production base.

Municipality Offers Countermeasures and Projests Growth

In addition to the initial proposal, the São Manuel City Hall indicated the possibility of providing an even larger area to Grupo Caio, eyeing future expansions. The goal is to ensure space for the company’s growth and strengthen the city as a competitive destination for large industries.

According to the municipal administration, the new industrial hub is expected to reach 80% occupancy within two years. As a result, the expectation is that the complex will generate around 2,000 direct and indirect jobs, focusing on attracting companies in the metallurgical, logistics, and industrial components sectors.

Botucatu Missed Out Due to Lack of Area and Tax Incentives

Before moving forward with São Manuel, Grupo Caio had initiated negotiations with the municipality of Botucatu. However, according to sources linked to the process, the absence of available land and the lack of a structured proposal for tax incentives ultimately made the project unfeasible in that city.

With greater agility in negotiations and the offer of favorable conditions, São Manuel stood out as a viable alternative. The city positioned itself as an active partner in structuring the new hub, offering institutional support and planning to receive the investment.

Company Seeks Decentralization and Logistical Gains

Grupo Caio, which has a long history in developing bodyworks and solutions for the transportation sector, sees the new unit as a strategic opportunity. The establishment of the new factory in São Manuel is part of the company’s productive decentralization plan, which aims for gains in logistical efficiency and strengthening the supply chain.

The company has been expanding its presence in different regions of the country, focusing on technological modernization and increasing installed capacity. The choice of São Manuel aligns with this plan by offering compatible infrastructure and proximity to highways and distribution centers.

Economic Perspectives for the Region

The arrival of the new Grupo Caio unit has the potential to transform the economic landscape of São Manuel. With the estimated generation of one thousand direct jobs, the impact will be felt across various sectors of the city, such as commerce, services, housing, and technical education.

The installation of the factory is also expected to attract suppliers and industrial partners, creating a regional productive ecosystem. For the City Hall, the project is an opportunity to consolidate São Manuel as a hub of investment and industrial development in São Paulo’s interior.
