The Investments Of EDP Brazil
EDP expects to invest up to R$ 10 billion in Brazil by the end of 2021. Of these investments, solar power plants should receive around R$ 3 billion. In the transmission area, the amount invested will be R$ 0.8 billion.
The distribution assets of EDP Brazil are expected to receive investments of R$ 6 billion by the already established deadline. The company’s strategy for renewable energy and carbon level reduction involves making the company fully clean by 2030, with the group stopping carbon emissions by 2025.
Estimate For The Creation Of New Solar Power Plants In Brazil By The End Of 2021
According to data from ABSOLAR, since 2012, solar energy has already seen over R$ 40 billion in investments, generating 240,000 accumulated jobs. The organization’s data takes into account both large-scale solar power plants and distributed generation, such as small systems installed on facades and lots.
New private investments in the sector could reach R$ 22.6 billion in 2021. According to ABSOLAR’s estimates, throughout this year, around 4.9 GW of installed capacity will be added, combining distributed generation and large-scale solar power plants.
There are several factors making solar energy a great investment source this year, such as the appreciation of properties, considering that those looking to sell properties are facing difficulties, as high supply and low demand are causing property prices to drop, so solar energy is one way to add value to a property, helping to keep its price stable.
