Now it has just received a new generation, or rather, a new SUV built on the same platform that has been remodeled and improved with structural reinforcements and new materials.

The name chosen for the new mid-size SUV from Hyundai is a bit peculiar, as the model is named Mufasa, the same iconic name of the father lion of Simba in The Lion King Franchise. In dimensions, it measures 4.47 m in length, 2.68 m in wheelbase, 1.85 m in width, 1.68 m in height, weighing up to 1382 kg and accommodating up to 489 L of luggage in the trunk.
Visually, the new mid-size SUV from Hyundai now features the latest design line from the manufacturer. Following similar elements to the new fourth-generation Tucson and the Santa Cruz pickup, the front showcases a huge honeycomb grille with a Black Piano finish, a gray insert at the base of the bumper, and full LED headlights on the sides.

New Mid-Size SUV From Hyundai Delivers Up to 160 Horsepower
In terms of engine, the new mid-size SUV from Hyundai made its debut with only one option, but Hyundai promised more news for next year. The engine introduced with the model is the 2.0 naturally aspirated block with direct fuel injection running solely on gasoline, which is coupled with an additional 48V battery that replaces the alternator.

All in all, the light hybrid Hyundai Mufasa delivers 160 horsepower and 23 kgfm of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission with a torque converter and front-wheel drive.
For 2024, the South Korean manufacturer promised that the new mid-size SUV from Hyundai will have another traditional hybrid option, but did not reveal details. However, the most likely option is the 1.4 Turbo gasoline block combined with an additional electric motor. This is already sold in the Asian automotive market in other SUVs from the manufacturer and also from Kia there.

Inside, the new Hyundai Mufasa resembles practically all of the manufacturer’s models these days. The finish is very good, with soft-touch materials on the dashboard, doors, and also on the console, and the interior space comfortably accommodates five adults, even though it doesn’t have a very large wheelbase.
