Revolutionizing the purchase of electricity
In an unprecedented partnership, NTT DATA, a global giant in IT consultancy, joined forces with CPFL Soluções, a member of the renowned CPFL Energia group, to develop a revolutionary e-commerce platform in the energy sector. This portal, launched in São Paulo in January 2024, is a milestone in the free energy market, significantly simplifying the migration process for companies that aim to obtain energy from more sustainable sources.
E-commerce, the result of this partnership, was conceived with the aim of democratizing access to the free energy market, a segment that began to open up to all Group A customers (medium and high voltage consumers) since the beginning of the year. The Electric Energy Trading Chamber (CCEE) predicts massive adoption, estimating around 70 thousand consumer units migrating in 2024.
Diversified and sustainable options
Small and medium-sized companies now have the power of choice in their hands. They can decide who to buy energy from, opting for plans and contracts that best align with their business demands. Furthermore, they gain predictability in electricity costs and have the opportunity to choose renewable sources, aligning their operations with more sustainable practices.

The site stands out for offering four unique products: Guaranteed Savings, Short-Term Energy, Carbon Credits and I-REC Certificate. With this, companies from various sectors can not only reduce costs on their energy bills, but also advance their ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) journey.
Raphael Saueia Bueno, Utilities leader at NTT DATA, emphasizes the importance of the platform developed for CPFL Soluções. According to him, the platform not only makes the energy contracting process more agile and simple, but also positions CPFL as an omnichannel leader in the energy market. This evolution opens up a range of possibilities for entrepreneurs focused on decarbonization and the search for more advantageous energy supply contracts.
Platform construction and advantages
The development of the platform took seven months, a project that included the collaboration of experts in CRM (Customer Relationship Management), DX (Developer Experience), UX (User Experience) and Digital Marketing. The strategy used around 45 marketing tactics to create automated journeys with Artificial Intelligence, optimizing customer attraction, engagement and conversion. Bueno highlights the work of the multidisciplinary team, which was crucial in structuring a fully digital experience, allowing simulations, proposals and energy contracting in an efficient and intuitive way.
In addition to facilitating migration to the free energy market, the new platform offers solutions linked to sustainability, such as the purchase of carbon credits and renewable energy certificates. Lucas Zajd, director of Regulation and Market Intelligence at CPFL Soluções, highlights that this project is the result of four years of dedication and joint work between the teams, resulting in an adaptable technological solution of great value for new customers in the free market. power.
