Federal Institute Opens Spots for Free Technical Courses: Over 2,800 Spots in Various Cities
For the secondary level technical education, the Federal Institute of Fluminense (IFF) offers 2,786 spots for the first semester and another 100 for the second semester of 2026.
The courses are offered in units such as Cambuci, Maricá, São João da Barra, Campos Guarus, Santo Antônio de Pádua, Quissamã, Itaboraí, Campos Centro, Itaperuna, Bom Jesus do Itabapoana, Macaé, Cabo Frio, Cordeiro, and Inmetro-Xerém/Duque de Caxias.
The technical programs are aimed at those who have completed or are completing elementary or high school, depending on the modality.

Undergraduate at IFF: 567 Spots in Bachelor’s, Licentiate, and Technology
In addition to free technical courses, the Federal Institute is also accepting applications for the undergraduate entrance exam.
There are 567 spots distributed among the campuses in Cabo Frio, Campos Guarus, Santo Antônio de Pádua, Itaperuna, Bom Jesus do Itabapoana, Macaé, and Campos Centro.
Options include bachelor’s, licentiate, and technology courses, focusing on areas such as engineering, education, management, and information technology.
The exam will be held on November 23 and will consist of 50 objective questions, an essay, and, in some cases, evaluation of specific skills.
Registrations, Fees, and Exemptions
Registrations for the free technical courses and for the undergraduate program can be made on the website inscricoes.iff.edu.br or in person at the campuses, according to the schedules indicated in the announcements.
The registration fee is R$ 30 for technical courses and R$ 75 for undergraduate programs.
Payment can be made via PIX, credit card, or GRU boleto at Banco do Brasil until October 3.
Low-income candidates can request a fee exemption until September 5, according to the criteria established in the announcement.
Exams and Selection Format
The selection process for the free technical courses will be held on November 31 and will consist of 40 objective questions.
The undergraduate entrance exam will take place on November 23, with an objective test, essay, and specific evaluation for some courses.
According to the IFF, the exams are designed to assess knowledge compatible with the level of education required for each course.
