IFB opens 130 vacancies in free technical courses! In-person and immediate enrollment for high school and EJA students. Take advantage!

The Federal Institute of Brasília (IFB) is accepting applications for two free technical courses on the Estrutural campus, with a total of 130 places available for the first semester of 2025.

The initiative includes students from regular high school and Education for Young People and Adults (Proeja), offering professional qualification opportunities in strategic areas such as Automotive Maintenance and the Environment.

Places will be filled in the order of in-person registration, without the need for a selection process, which makes admission more accessible.

Interested parties must go directly to the campus to guarantee registration, as long as they meet the requirements established in the notice.

Courses aim to train young people and adults for the job market

According to the IFB, the main objective of the initiative is expand access to quality technical education, contributing to the training of qualified labor and social inclusion through professional education.

The courses offered focus on areas with strong demand in the job market, especially in the context of the Federal District.

The available courses are:

  • Technician in Automotive Maintenance: aimed exclusively at regular high school students, this course qualifies students to work with diagnosis, repair and maintenance of motor vehicles.
    With the growth of the vehicle fleet in the country, the area offers good employment prospects.
  • Environmental technician: aimed at both high school students and those in the Proeja modality, this course covers topics such as sustainability, environmental legislation and waste management.
    The growing demand for professionals who understand today's environmental challenges makes this training especially relevant.

Where and how to register

Registration must be done in person at IFB Campus Estrutural, located at SCIA, Block 16, Special Area No. 01, in Cidade do Automóvel, in Brasília.

Service is provided in two shifts: from 9am to 12pm and from 13pm to 18pm.

To secure a place, candidates must submit the documentation required in the notice, available on the official IFB website.

There is no registration or monthly fee, and places will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Proeja: a chance to resume studies with technical qualifications

The inclusion of the Environmental Technician course in the Proeja modality represents an important opportunity for those who did not complete high school at the appropriate age, but wish to return to studying with professional training.

Proeja (National Program for the Integration of Professional Education with Basic Education in the Youth and Adult Education Modality) allows students to complete secondary education integrated with technical training, which increases their chances of entering the job market.

According to data from the Ministry of Education, there are more than 9 million Brazilians aged 18 or over who have not yet completed high school.

Programs like Proeja seek to reduce this educational deficit by offering more attractive training paths aligned with social and economic demands.

The importance of free technical education in Brazil

Free technical education is one of the main gateways to the formal job market for young people and adults in Brazil.

Recent data from the Institute of Applied Economic Research (Ipea) indicate that professionals with technical training have a greater chance of getting a job and better salaries compared to those who only have a traditional high school education.

Furthermore, professional education contributes directly to regional development.

By offering technical courses in specific locations, such as the IFB Estrutural campus, the institute promotes the inclusion of communities that are often neglected by public professional training policies.

By offering courses in practical and up-to-date areas, the IFB strengthens its mission of democratizing access to free, quality public education.

Documents required for registration

To complete the registration, interested parties must present the following documents (originals and copies):

  • Identity document (RG);
  • Individual Taxpayer Registration (CPF);
  • Proof of education;
  • Proof of address;
  • 1 recent 3×4 photo;
  • Declaration or academic transcript proving enrollment or completion of elementary school (for Proeja) or high school (for the regular technical course).

Candidates are advised to read the notice carefully before arriving on campus to ensure they have all the documentation on hand.
The full notice can be found on the website ifb.edu.br.
