From 2021 to 2025, the investment will have 3 thousand kilometers of new transmission lines, increasing 22,275 MVA of transformer capacity

From 2021 to 2025, the Medium-Term Operation Plan of the SIN (PAR / PEL) is expected to result in an investment of approximately R$ 12.8 billion in the country for transmission lines. The set of projects indicated in this cycle totals 3,000 kilometers of new transmission lines, with the capacity of new and existing substations increasing by 22,275 MVA in Brazil.

Check Out Other News Of The Day:

The project presents, in comparison with the existing network, an increase in the length of transmission lines of about 2% relative to the existing network, and the nominal power of the transformer installed in the basic network and in the basic border network increased by 5%.

Out of this total, ONS – National Electric System Operator, continued with R$ 5.4 billion that involved the new proposed works. Additionally, according to Aneel’s price bank, an investment is scheduled for the next transmission auction No. 01/2020, which will be held on December 4, 2020, which is expected to increase investment by R$ 6.8 billion.

Over time, the state of São Paulo is expected to receive the largest investment, about R$ 3.5 billion. Next are the states of Bahia and Rio Grande do Sul, with estimated investments of R$ 2.5 billion and R$ 1.8 billion, respectively. These three states account for more than 60% of all planned investments in the plan.

The focus of the increase in transmission restrictions on the interconnection between submarkets is the increase in export capacity in the Northeast. The plan indicates that it will increase from an average of 6,000 MW to 145,000 MW on average between 2021 and 2025. The export capacity in the northern region is also a highlight of PAR / PEL 2020. After the new well comes online, the average export volume increased by approximately 2.3 GW between 500 kV and 750 kV, at the substations Xingu, Serra Pelada, Itacaiúnas, and Miracema.
