Iraq exported 10 million barrels of oil through the Strait of Hormuz in April, reported the new oil minister, Basim Mohammed, at a press conference this Saturday (16). The announcement placed the country on an agenda focused on production and export.

Mohammed also stated that Iraq plans to engage with OPEC to boost the production of the commodity and expand its export capacity. Baghdad aims to reach a production capacity of 5 million barrels per day, as declared by the minister.
