Student accepted into Medicine at USP studied her whole life in public school, maintained an intense preparation routine, and surprised her parents with the achievement.
Being accepted into Medicine at the University of São Paulo (USP) is a goal that mobilizes thousands of students every year. For Bruna de Assis Ramos Salvador, 21, the achievement came after a long routine of studies, years in the public education system, and constant encouragement from her family. According to a g1 report, in 2025, the young woman, a resident of São Sebastião, on the North Coast of São Paulo, secured a spot in the course at the institution she considered the college of her dreams.
Intense study routine was decisive for acceptance
Before securing a spot in Medicine at USP, Bruna maintained a rigorous preparation routine. For three years, she attended an online preparatory course, an investment made by her parents to help her achieve the goal.
The days were dedicated almost exclusively to studies. Activities started in the morning and continued until early evening, with few breaks throughout the day. In the last year of preparation, she included physical exercise in her routine, a decision that, according to the student, contributed to improving performance and emotional balance during the preparation period.

In addition to the preparatory course, Bruna completed all her basic education in public schools and also participated in a social project in her city.
Dream of studying Medicine emerged after overcoming the fear of trying
Although she always showed interest in the health field, Bruna did not always believe it would be possible to enter one of the most competitive courses in the country.
At the beginning of high school, she considered pursuing a career in veterinary medicine, mainly due to fear of not being accepted into Medicine. It was only halfway through the third year that she decided to change plans and pursue the dream she wanted to follow, encouraged by her family’s support.

The decision initiated a preparation focused exclusively on the entrance exam, making Medicine her main academic goal.
Approval was discovered during gym workout
The moment of approval happened unexpectedly. While working out at the gym, Bruna checked the list of approved candidates and found her name among those selected for Medicine at USP.
Not believing the result, she preferred to share the news initially only with her sister. The two decided to keep it a secret until the end of the day to organize a surprise for their parents.
Family was surprised with announcement on celebratory cake
Instead of immediately announcing the approval, Bruna and her sister prepared a celebration to gather close family members.
The revelation happened through a cake with the message “I passed at USP!”. While the guests believed they were attending another type of celebration, the student entered wearing the inscription “USP, Medicine, 2025”, making the moment even more emotional for the parents.

According to Bruna, the support received over the years was fundamental for her to maintain confidence during the preparation for the entrance exam. She highlighted that her parents always believed in her potential and stood by her throughout the process.
Achievement represents years of dedication and persistence
The acceptance into Medicine at USP symbolizes the result of a journey built with discipline, family encouragement, and perseverance.
After facing remote learning during the pandemic, maintaining an intense study routine, and overcoming the fear of competing for a spot in a highly competitive course, Bruna achieved the goal she began pursuing back in high school.
The student’s story shows that the combination of planning, continuous effort, and family support can make a difference in the quest for a spot at one of the most prestigious universities in Latin America.
