Investment package exceeds R$ 2 billion and benefits more than 600,000 residents of the regions of Capela do Socorro and Grajaú, with the participation of Governor Tarcísio de Freitas
The South Zone of São Paulo received, on June 9, a series of deliveries focused on health, housing, and land regularization. With investments exceeding R$ 2 billion, the São Paulo City Hall inaugurated public facilities, delivered housing, and distributed deeds to families in the regions of Capela do Socorro and Grajaú, directly benefiting more than 600,000 residents.
The actions are part of the Prefeitura Presente program, an initiative that brings together itinerant agendas of the municipal administration in different regions of the city. In this edition, Mayor Ricardo Nunes was joined by Governor Tarcísio de Freitas, reinforcing the collaboration between municipal and state governments in the execution of structural works and social programs.
The information was released on June 9, 2025, by the official website of the São Paulo City Hall, with content updates recorded at 11:45 PM on the same day.

New UBS triples service capacity and expands team in the region
Among the deliveries, the highlight is the inauguration of the new facilities of the Cantinho do Céu Basic Health Unit (UBS). With an investment of R$ 14.5 million, the new facility is almost three times larger than the previous structure, increasing from 392 m² to approximately 1,200 m². According to the City Hall, the expansion also tripled the number of available rooms, raising the service capacity to up to 12,000 procedures and consultations per month.
During the inauguration ceremony, Mayor Ricardo Nunes highlighted the difference between the old structure — described as precarious, hot, and lacking ideal working conditions — and the new, more spacious and functional space. According to the mayor, the unit’s staff also grew: from 69 to 88 professionals, enhancing the capacity to serve the local population.
However, the UBS was not the only social-focused delivery in the region. On the same agenda, the municipality also inaugurated the CEMEI Caminho dos Martins, expanding the network of educational facilities aimed at early childhood in the South Zone of São Paulo’s capital.
Largest housing development in the city delivers 374 apartments in Grajaú

Concluding the day’s agendas, Mayor Ricardo Nunes and Governor Tarcísio de Freitas delivered 374 housing units of the Residencial Novo Brasil — currently the largest housing development under implementation in the city of São Paulo. The project has already received R$ 349.9 million in investments from the City Hall, added to R$ 150 million transferred by the State Government.
According to the mayor, the residential will have, at the end of all stages, a total of 2,711 apartments. “Today is a day of victory in the housing area, as 374 people will receive the key to their apartment here,” stated Ricardo Nunes during the event, emphasizing the importance of the partnership between municipal and state governments to enable deliveries of this magnitude in the Grajaú region.
In this sense, the combination of public investment and institutional partnership has been pointed out by the municipal management as one of the determining factors to accelerate the delivery of popular housing in one of the historically most infrastructure-deprived regions of the capital.
Land regularization guarantees legal security to thousands of families
In addition to the deliveries in health and housing, the City Hall also distributed 2,310 property titles to residents of the Jardim Noronha II, Sítio Hamada, and Jardim Beatriz nuclei, through the Escritura na Mão program. The municipal investment allocated to the regularization of these areas was approximately R$ 5.7 million.
According to the mayor, the deeds delivered are already duly registered in the property registry office, with no additional cost to the beneficiaries. “Now, the house is yours,” stated Ricardo Nunes during the ceremony, reinforcing the definitive nature of the regularization.
The areas covered by the program were consolidated between the 1980s and 1990s and have, over the years, undergone urbanization processes conducted under the Mananciais Program — an initiative that included the implementation of water and sewage networks, drainage systems, and paving of local roads. With the completion of land regularization, the families involved finally receive the definitive deed to their properties.
Even so, the reach of the Escritura na Mão program goes far beyond this specific delivery. With the edition carried out in the region of Capela do Socorro and Grajaú, the initiative surpasses the mark of 84,000 titles granted since 2021, significantly expanding legal security and access to regularized housing for thousands of families throughout the city of São Paulo. Therefore, more than an isolated agenda of deliveries, the package announced in this edition of Prefeitura Presente reinforces a continuous movement of structural investments aimed at improving the quality of life in the South Zone of São Paulo.
