- Indicated for class A fire fighting in paper, rubber, tire, textile, cotton, plastic, mining, and coal storage industries, among others
- Can be used in equipment with or without air aspiration
- Compatible with dry chemical powder
São Paulo, May 2023 – Kidde launches Sintex Class A – foam-generating liquid – composed of hydrocarbon surfactants and free of fluorine. It was developed specifically to meet the ABNT NBR 16963: 2022 standard, which is specific for fighting class A fires – solid materials – such as paper, rubber, fabric, wood, among others.
“Foam-generating liquids (FGL) are used for extinguishing fires. However, many are unaware that one of the most efficient and effective ways to put out a fire is through cooling, which occurs with the mixture of water and FGL and not just with the use of water,” explains Nathalia Bueno, Product Marketing Specialist for the Carrier Fire & Security fire line. In such cases, Nathalia adds, “the product should be applied through conventional solid jet and mist nozzles. The solution quickly penetrates the combustible material, allowing the cooling properties of water to control the fire more effectively.”

Scientists create concrete made from seafloor sediment for robots to print 3D structures underwater, aiming to transform the ocean floor into a submerged construction site for bridges, ports, and maritime bases.
If there is a need for isolation or protection against exposure, a special compressed air foam generation system (CAFS) is triggered, transforming the foam solution from Sintex A into a thick foam blanket with slow drainage that adheres to vertical surfaces. The foam blanket creates an insulation against conductive heat, while the bright white color reflects radiant heat.
Being a completely versatile product, Sintex Class A can be used in equipment with or without air aspiration, in proportioning and balanced pressure systems, diaphragm tanks, line proportioners, “Around-the-Pump” type proportioners, and nozzles with reducers.
It is available in polyethylene drums of 20 and 50 liters, in polyethylene barrels with 200 liters, and in 1,000-liter containers. One of its major advantages is that the product remains stable for up to 15 years, requiring only adherence to the established storage conditions.
How Should It Be Maintained? For better safety, the product should be stored in its original packaging or in specially constructed tanks for this purpose. It is important that storage tanks are equipped with pressure and vacuum valves and that a layer of AP-40 inhibitor is applied to the surface of the FGL to avoid contact with air and evaporation of the product.
