Great Expectation to Carry Out This Operation, Never Before Undertaken at Wilson Sons Shipyard
Specialized in the construction of offshore support vessels (OSV), Wilson Sons Shipyards (WS) has a tradition of building and maintaining port tugs, with two strategically located units in the State of São Paulo, in the city of Guarujá. WS has begun the dry-docking of the largest ship ever received at its facilities, measuring 99.66 meters in length and 18.0 meters in width.
Operating in Santos (SP) since 2011, as a fuel supply vessel and being leased to Transpetro, with an expected duration of 10 to 15 days of operation. One of the major challenges of this action is precisely the short period and the large dimensions of the vessel, according to an executive from Wilson Sons Shipyards.

He also stated that the shipyard is capable of performing activities that will be executed along with the dry-docking of another vessel, the Smit Pareci. With these two dry-dockings, it can total about 20 operations of this type this year, with three more scheduled by the end of 2018.
There is still on the agenda of Wilson Sons Shipyard, the delivery of one tug and the construction of two more, one for Wilson Sons Tugs and one for SAAM SMIT. Besides the three scheduled dry-dockings by the end of the year, the company has 12 confirmed operations of the same type for the year 2019, also including the conversion of a PSV to SDSV for Wilson Sons Ultratug Offshore.
