The Garoto Chocolate Factory Will Receive Investments of R$ 160 Million to Expand the Unit Located in Vila Velha, in the Espírito Santo
The Garoto chocolate company is going to broaden its horizons. In order to keep up with the latest market technologies and make its facilities increasingly modern, Garoto will invest over R$ 100 million in expanding its factory located in Vila Velha, Espírito Santo.
The investment made by Garoto will ensure that the factory in Espírito Santo has an additional building to house two new production lines and also a space built according to some criteria that favor the environment, with the Green Building House certification. With the expansion of the new factory, Garoto will be able to generate more than 200 indirect jobs.
According to information from the company itself, the capital to be invested in the factory in Espírito Santo will follow the style of Industry 4.0, which provides greater efficiency and extensive intelligence in the factory’s operations. Overall, in recent years Garoto has been increasingly investing in the expansion of its product portfolio and in the enlargement of its factories.

The Garoto factory in Espírito Santo will become larger, digital, and connected with cutting-edge technologies and will also have the ability to reuse 100% of the waste generated in the factory’s operations. In addition, the company has a portfolio of over 80 products, exporting to more than 20 countries, with the main destinations being South America and North America, Europe, Asia, and Africa.
Garoto chocolates were incorporated by Nestlé in 2002. “Over the past 20 years, Nestlé has added five new complete production lines to the factory, approximately 10% more in the number of production lines, along with the necessary modernization for improving the performance of the unit, with a strong technological bias”, says Michey Piantavinha, director of the Garoto factory.
