In a historic milestone for federal public administration, the Attorney General’s Office (AGU) announced that all six Federal Regional Prosecutors of the Attorney General’s Office (AGU), which comprise the Federal Prosecutor’s Office (PGF), are now led by women.
This unprecedented achievement in the institution’s history represents a significant advancement in the pursuit of gender equity in leadership positions in the Brazilian public service.
The conclusion of this process was celebrated in a ceremony marking the swearing-in of the last regional prosecutor.

The Federal Prosecutor General, Dr. Adriana Maia Venturini, personally went to Recife (PE) to swear in the new Federal Regional Prosecutor, demonstrating the importance of the moment for the institution.
On this occasion, Dr. Adriana shared her joy over the milestone, highlighting the relevance of the initiative. In her words, the gesture goes beyond rhetoric:
”Today’s swearing-in reinforces that we have effectively sought gender equality, much more than just a speech.”

The New Panel of Female Leadership in the PGF
The appointments, which occurred gradually between 2024 and 2025, resulted in a leadership team made up of highly qualified and experienced women.
With the appointments, the regional heads of the PGF are now held by:
- Lucia Penna Franco Ferreira – Federal Regional Prosecutor of the 1st Region.
- Luciana Bahia Iorio Ribeiro – Federal Regional Prosecutor of the 2nd Region.
- Danielle Aniceto – Federal Regional Prosecutor of the 3rd Region.
- Bianca de Freitas Mazur – Federal Regional Prosecutor of the 4th Region.
- Larissa Suassuna Carvalho Barros – Federal Regional Prosecutor of the 5th Region.
- Karina Brandão Rezende Oliveira – Federal Regional Prosecutor of the 6th Region.
This select group of professionals now has the responsibility of leading the legal and administrative operations of the PGF in their respective regions, ensuring the defense of the interests of the Brazilian state with excellence and dedication.
