All Six Federal Regional Prosecutors Are Led by Women. Meet the New Leaders of the Institution.

In a historic milestone for federal public administration, the Attorney General’s Office (AGU) announced that all six Federal Regional Prosecutors of the Attorney General’s Office (AGU), which comprise the Federal Prosecutor’s Office (PGF), are now led by women.

This unprecedented achievement in the institution’s history represents a significant advancement in the pursuit of gender equity in leadership positions in the Brazilian public service.

The conclusion of this process was celebrated in a ceremony marking the swearing-in of the last regional prosecutor.

The nomination movement, which occurred gradually and strategically, reinforces the institution’s commitment to valuing female talent and competence in high-ranking positions.

This 100% female leadership panel is not just a symbol, but the realization of an institutional policy focused on results and representativity.

The Celebration of a Historical Milestone

The last appointment, which consolidated the achievement, was celebrated with great enthusiasm.

The Federal Prosecutor General, Dr. Adriana Maia Venturini, personally went to Recife (PE) to swear in the new Federal Regional Prosecutor, demonstrating the importance of the moment for the institution.

On this occasion, Dr. Adriana shared her joy over the milestone, highlighting the relevance of the initiative. In her words, the gesture goes beyond rhetoric:

”Today’s swearing-in reinforces that we have effectively sought gender equality, much more than just a speech.”

The Federal Prosecutor General’s statement emphasizes that the advancement in the Attorney General’s Office (AGU) is the result of a conscious and directed effort to promote diversity and ensure that women occupy their rightful space in institutional leadership.

The rise of these professionals is an inspiration for future generations of lawyers and public servants across the country.

The New Panel of Female Leadership in the PGF

The appointments, which occurred gradually between 2024 and 2025, resulted in a leadership team made up of highly qualified and experienced women.

With the appointments, the regional heads of the PGF are now held by:

  • Lucia Penna Franco Ferreira – Federal Regional Prosecutor of the 1st Region.
  • Luciana Bahia Iorio Ribeiro – Federal Regional Prosecutor of the 2nd Region.
  • Danielle Aniceto – Federal Regional Prosecutor of the 3rd Region.
  • Bianca de Freitas Mazur – Federal Regional Prosecutor of the 4th Region.
  • Larissa Suassuna Carvalho Barros – Federal Regional Prosecutor of the 5th Region.
  • Karina Brandão Rezende Oliveira – Federal Regional Prosecutor of the 6th Region.

This select group of professionals now has the responsibility of leading the legal and administrative operations of the PGF in their respective regions, ensuring the defense of the interests of the Brazilian state with excellence and dedication.

The formation of this female panel is a testament to the talent and capacity of women to assume prominent roles in the public sector.
