Applications open from May 20 to June 2 for candidates of both sexes with completed high school education
A merchant navy announced the opening of a public tender for admission to Officer Training Schools (Efomm), aiming to integrate new officers in 2026.
The notice was published in Official Gazette in this Thursday's edition, May 8.
In total, there are available 374 vacancies, being 210 protocols for Admiral Grace Aranha Training Center (Ciaga), at Rio de Janeiro - RJ), and 164 protocols for Admiral Braz de Aguiar Training Center (Ciaba)On Belem (PA).

Requirements for participation and registration fee
Candidates must meet certain requirements to participate in the competition.
It is necessary to be not married, have between 17 and 23 years (considering the date of January 1, 2026) and not have children or dependents.
Additionally, you must have completed the high school.
Registration will be open from May 20 to June 2 2025, and interested parties can register on the Navy's official website: www.marinha.mil.br. 👈👈👈
The registration fee has been set at R$100.
Competition stages and tests
The written tests of the competition merchant navy are scheduled for the days August 2 and 3, 2025.
Candidates will be assessed on multiple choice questions on Local Guide, English, mathematics e Physics, in addition to an essay.
The next steps include a psychophysical assessment, a physical test, an adaptation period and document verification.
Training and benefits offered
Successful students will begin their classes in February 3, 2026, after choosing between Ciaga or Ciaba during registration.
The course lasts for six semesters, in a boarding school regime, and offers training in two distinct areas: marine, which focuses on handling deck equipment, navigation and communication; and machines, which covers the operation and maintenance of engines and equipment on board ships.
Students will have access to several benefits, including uniform, accommodation, food, medical-dental, psychological, social and religious assistance.
Furthermore, the starting salary is around R$1.500.
After completing the course, graduates undergo an internship of at least 12 months on board merchant vessels, obtaining, at the end, a bachelor's degree in nautical sciences.
With this training, graduates join the Officers' Cadre of the unpaid Reserve of the Brazil's navy, at the post of second lieutenant.
