Languages within the PNAEM
MEC reports that the creation of the course meets the need for continued training arising from the curricular changes anticipated in the national policy.
The area of Languages and Their Technologies, which includes components such as Portuguese Language, English Language, Arts, and Physical Education, is becoming central both in basic general education and in educational itineraries.
According to researchers in the field of educational policies, training courses of this type can contribute to schools’ adaptation to the new legal guidelines.
Content and Pedagogical Approach
The training presents content related to curricular organization, the pedagogical principles of the PNAEM, and classroom practices that involve multiple languages.
The material covers topics such as digital citizenship, integration between components, interdisciplinary projects, and youth trajectories, aspects considered relevant by specialists for planning public networks.
Course in MOOC Format
The course adopts the MOOC format, allowing for broad participation and self-directed study.
Being 100% online, asynchronous, and self-instructional, participants can organize their study pace according to their availability.
There is no mandatory tutoring, and access to content occurs directly after enrollment.
According to MEC, the choice of an open course favors the continuous entry of participants and broadens the reach among professionals with distinct work routines.
Modules and Support Materials
The modules include activities, support materials, and guidelines on pedagogical practices aligned with the PNAEM.
In recent evaluations of continued training programs conducted by public universities, researchers have highlighted that proposals focused on curricular integration can assist teachers in understanding legislation and reorganizing their practices.
In the case of MAIS LT, this approach is reflected in the selection of themes that intersect with school life, encouraging the use of technology and presenting learning situations that engage with different contexts of public networks.
Priority Audience
The priority audience includes teachers from public schools working in the area of Languages and Their Technologies, as well as pedagogical coordinators and managers involved in implementing the PNAEM.
The training can also be accessed by other education professionals interested in the curricular reorganization of High School.
According to specialists in teacher training policies, open-entry courses tend to reach both professionals already directly working in the area and educators preparing to enter this segment.
Certification and Approval Criteria
To receive the 180-hour certificate, the student must complete all modules and planned activities and, at the end, take the Assessment Module, obtaining at least grade 6.
The document is issued in the virtual environment and can be used as proof of continued education, complying with the norms of each education network for functional progression and updating.
Path to Specialization by UFPI
The course also integrates a training arrangement involving MEC and higher education institutions.
The partnership with UFPI allows participants to leverage the course as part of the pathway to obtaining a Specialization Certificate.
To do this, interested parties must complete the MAIS LT, finish the course “More High School Education”, also available on AVAMEC with the same workload, and hold a degree in areas linked to the PNAEM or a diploma with proven experience in teaching or school management.
UFPI defines the final criteria for postgraduate lato sensu, which combines the workload of improvement courses to meet the requirements for specialization.
According to researchers in teacher training, initiatives that link improvement courses with postgraduate lato sensu expand access for education professionals to specialization, especially in regions with limited in-person offerings.
The online and free format facilitates the entry of educators from different locations, regardless of geographical distance or availability of schedules.
Practical Application in School Life
Throughout the training path, materials aimed at pedagogical planning, the use of educational technologies, and the development of integrative proposals seek to assist participants in relating the studied concepts to school practices.
Analysts in the field emphasize that this type of practical guidance is often relevant for teachers directly involved in High School who need to review didactic sequences and activities due to the structural changes promoted by the PNAEM.
How to Enroll in the MEC Course
The information on how to enroll is concentrated in this last paragraph, as requested.
To participate, interested individuals must access the AVAMEC platform, create or update their registration, search for the course “More Languages and Their Technologies (MAIS LT)” and confirm the enrollment.
Access is immediate, provided there are still available places and the user correctly completes the registration process in the virtual environment.
