An opportunity that promises to transform inclusive education in Brazil has just been launched.

If you are looking for specialization in an area that is fundamental to inclusion, this could be the opportunity you have been waiting for.

But don't think it's just another course. The proposal is bold and aims to train educators to serve visually impaired students even more effectively.

However, the registration period is short and the number of places is limited. You need to be careful not to miss this opportunity.

Training opportunity in inclusive education

According to the MEC, the Advanced Course in Orientation and Mobility, Braille and Audio Description Registration is now open and will be offered free of charge and remotely, with vacancies throughout Brazil.

The course's main objective is to develop the skills necessary for public school teachers to implement pedagogical practices aimed at serving students with visual impairments.

The partnership between MEC and UFRGS opens 75 vacancies, exclusively intended for professionals working in basic education in the public network of Rio Grande do Sul.

However, if you are an educator outside of this target audience, it is still possible that similar opportunities will arise soon.

Details about vacancies and workload

The course has a total workload of 180 hours, divided equally between theory and practice. In-person classes will take place on Fridays and Saturdays, at the UFRGS School of Education, located in Porto Alegre.

Training that can change lives

The initiative seeks to promote education more inclusive and accessible, equipping teachers to better meet the needs of visually impaired students.

According to UFRGS, this is an important step in ensuring that educators are prepared to deal with the challenges of inclusive education, transforming pedagogical practices and enabling each student to reach their full potential.

The expectation is that this type of action can be expanded to other states, leading to training model at a national level. However, at this first stage, the opportunity is available exclusively to teachers in the public school system of Rio Grande do Sul.

Course schedule and modules

The course will be divided into modules, each covering an essential aspect of inclusive education. The detailed class schedule is as follows:
