A Rapidly Expanding Company
Founded in 2019, Contegran has not always worked with sugarcane, having started its journey focusing on the wholesale trade of Brazilian coffee. Since then, the company has not stopped growing.
In 2022, Contegran reported a net revenue exceeding R$ 40 million, a figure that would be just the beginning of its meteoric rise.
The following year, the company expanded its operations to the international market, exporting coffee to countries in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
This expansion resulted in an impressive 67.98% growth in its net revenue, reaching over R$ 73 million in 2023. This remarkable performance secured Contegran the twenty-sixth position in the “Businesses on the Rise” ranking.
Diversification and Focus on Agricultural Commodities
But Contegran hasn’t stopped at coffee. According to Lippaus, the company has recently begun exporting sugar and aims to close 2024 with a revenue of R$ 500 million, with this product as its flagship.
Additionally, the company plans to further diversify its portfolio by starting to work with pepper and cocoa later this year, along with increasing the volume of coffee exported.
This diversification strategy is a direct response to the growing global demand for agricultural commodities, an area where Brazil has been increasingly standing out.
“The world is looking at Brazil as a major producer of agricultural commodities, and we are also keeping an eye on that,” emphasized Lippaus. This vision reflects a confidence in Brazil’s potential and the crucial role the country can play on the global agricultural stage.
Economic and Social Impact of the Plant
The construction of the sugarcane plant is not only a triumph for Contegran but also for the local community.
The creation of up to 1,000 jobs represents a vital opportunity for the local population, providing not only jobs but also training and skill development.
This project could be the engine driving the socioeconomic development of the region, bringing improvements in infrastructure, services, and quality of life for local residents.
The Promising Future of Contegran
With a trajectory marked by growth and innovation, Contegran is positioned to continue its ascent in the global commodities market. The construction of the sugarcane plant is just the next step in a well-planned strategy of expansion and diversification.
According to the company, it is not only consolidating its presence in the sugar market but also exploring new opportunities in other agricultural sectors, always with a keen eye on global trends and demands.
