According to government projections, it is estimated that in the next ten years, Brazil’s oil and gas market will reach fifth place in the global oil production ranking. In turn, the ANP highlighted that in the last decade, the pre-salt has become a key player in the deepwater offshore industry worldwide.
“Between September 2010 and September 2020, there were profound changes in the oil and gas production environment in the country, shifting the production spotlight from the Campos Basin to the pre-salt of the Santos Basin,” the ANP emphasized in the document.

In November 2018, the then Lula field, now Tupi, surpassed the mark of 1 billion barrels per day, after exceeding in April 2017 the production of the region above the ocean salt layer, until then the only region explored in the country.
