DER-MG Works Include 96-Meter Bridge over the Paranaíba River and Another 80-Meter Bridge over the Casca River, with State Investment.
The Government of Minas Gerais, through the Department of Highways (DER-MG), authorized the commencement of two bridges considered fundamental for safety, mobility, and strengthening socioeconomic development in different regions of the state.
The interventions encompass the construction of new bridges on highways that currently face traffic restrictions, especially affecting cargo transport.
Bridge over the Paranaíba River, in Alto Paranaíba
The first work will be carried out on the LMG-722 highway, in Alto Paranaíba, and plans to construct a bridge over the Paranaíba River.

Porto do Piauí and Porto de Itajaí sign an agreement to study a coastal shipping route that could connect the Northeast to the South of Brazil with lower logistical costs, an initiative aligned with the federal program BR do Mar to promote coastal navigation.
The structure will connect the community of Rocinha and the district of Pilar, in Patos de Minas, to the municipality of Lagamar.
The project includes 96 meters in length and 10.6 meters in width, with investment of R$ 14.6 million and an execution period of 360 days, starting from September 24, 2025.
The current bridge, made of metal and wood, limits the passage of vehicles weighing more than 12 tons, which compromises the flow of local production and hinders traffic during rainy periods.
The new concrete crossing will allow the safe circulation of heavy vehicles, increasing the logistical capacity of the region.
The work will be carried out alongside the existing structure, ensuring that traffic is not interrupted.
The Alto Paranaíba region stands out for its strong agricultural activity and the presence of mining companies. With the new bridge, the flow of goods will be more efficient, reducing costs and strengthening the local economy.
Bridge over the Casca River, in the Zona da Mata
On the AMG-1715 highway, section between the junction of the MG-329 and Santo Antônio do Grama, another bridge will be built, this time over the Casca River.
The new structure will have 80 meters in length and 10 meters in width, with a budget of approximately R$ 6 million and an execution period of 360 days.
The current bridge has a single lane, imposing load restrictions and forcing drivers to take detours. The new crossing will be built alongside the old one and will facilitate access to Belo Horizonte, providing more safety and traffic flow.
Strategic Investment by the State
According to the general director of DER-MG, Matheus Novais, the works represent fundamental investments for the sustainable development of the state. He emphasized that the improvements will ensure the safety of users while strengthening the regional economy through increased logistical capacity.
Both interventions are funded by the State Treasury and are consolidated as strategic investments in the road infrastructure of Minas Gerais, promoting economic development, road safety, and quality of life for local communities.
