Sales Performance, Automaker Movement, and Automotive Leadership in Brazil Shape the Competitive Landscape in 2025. Changes in Preference and New Habits of Brazilian Consumers Influence the Vehicle Ranking.
The Fiat Strada maintains its absolute leadership in the Brazilian automotive market in 2025, surpassing traditional competitors such as the Toyota Corolla Cross, Hyundai HB20, Chevrolet Onix, among other nationally significant models.
According to official data from the National Federation of Motor Vehicle Distributors (Fenabrave), between January and June 2025, 62,697 units of the compact pickup were sold, a number that positions it as the best-selling vehicle in Brazil for the first half of the year.
The dominance of the Fiat Strada is not a recent phenomenon: since 2021, the model has remained at the top of the registration ranking, sustaining a trajectory of success that combines robustness, versatility, and adaptation to the demands of the Brazilian consumer.

Fiat Strada Best Seller Maintains Leadership in 2025
Right after the Strada, the Volkswagen Polo secured the second position in the semester, with 57,216 units registered.
Although it remains one of the leaders in the sector, the Polo has seen the gap to the leader narrow over the months.
Only in June, the Volkswagen hatch recorded 11,492 sales, a result very close to that of the Fiat Strada, which sold 11,474 units in the same period.
This closeness reinforces the competitiveness of the national automotive market and highlights the preference for compact and multifunctional models.
Success of SUVs in the National Sales Ranking
In third place, the Volkswagen T-Cross established itself as the best-selling SUV of the semester, with 44,529 registrations.
The sports utility vehicle also stood out in June, with 8,629 units sold.
Moreover, SUVs continue to be a dominant trend: currently, these vehicles represent more than 53% of the total car sales in Brazil, according to data from Fenabrave and the National Association of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea).
Top 10 Best-Selling Cars in Brazil in 2025
In addition to the top three, other models stood out in the semester ranking.
The Fiat Argo appeared among the best-sellers, with 44,466 units sold, highlighting the strength of the Italian automaker in the domestic market.
The Hyundai HB20, one of the most popular hatches in the country, accounted for 36,873 sales.
The Chevrolet Onix, a traditional sales leader in previous years, totaled 34,389 units.
The Fiat Mobi, with 33,230 units, the Honda HR-V, with 32,002, the Hyundai Creta, with 31,177, and the Toyota Corolla Cross, with 30,090, complete the list of the ten most registered models in the semester.
The Volkswagen Saveiro rounded out the top 10, accumulating 29,147 sales in the period.

Fiat Strada Stays Ahead at the Beginning of the Second Semester
As the second semester of 2025 begins, the Fiat Strada maintained its pace and continued ahead of the competition.
In the first four days of July, Fiat’s pickup had already sold 2,144 units, while the Volkswagen Polo accumulated 1,603 registrations in the same timeframe.
During this period, the Hyundai Creta led among sports utility vehicles, with 1,549 units sold, reinforcing the rise of SUVs in the preferences of Brazilian consumers.
Diversity Among the 20 Best-Selling Models
The diversity of models preferred by Brazilians is also evident among the top twenty best-sellers of the semester, featuring vehicles such as the Chevrolet Tracker, Jeep Compass, Renault Kwid, and Fiat Fastback.
This variety demonstrates how the national public values characteristics such as economy, comfort, technology, and design, factors that directly influence purchase decisions.
The leadership of the Fiat Strada, however, highlights a strong demand for vehicles that combine durability for work with practicality for urban use, attributes historically valued in the country.
Trends and Transformations in the Automotive Sector in 2025
The Brazilian automotive sector continues to adapt to new technologies, environmental policies, and energy efficiency requirements.
According to data from the Brazilian Electric Vehicle Association (ABVE), interest in hybrid and electric vehicles is also growing, although still gradually, amid the predominance of combustion models.
Experts point out that the market is likely to become even more dynamic in the coming years, driven by the arrival of new brands, technological advancements, and changes in the mobility habits of the population.
According to reports released by the Foundation Institute for Economic Research (Fipe), consumer behavior has been impacted by factors such as increased credit availability, regional tax incentives, and frequent launches of new models, which widen the range of options and contribute to intensified competition among automakers.
The Fiat Strada, by remaining the best-selling car in Brazil in 2025, reinforces the strategic role of compact utility vehicles in a diversified market that values both tradition and innovation.
It remains to be seen whether this supremacy will persist in the coming months in light of the continuous transformations in the sector and the arrival of new automotive trends.
Among so many models and brands vying for the preference of Brazilian consumers, what characteristic do you consider essential for a car to achieve leadership in the national market?
