With 8 New Partners, Polestar Continues to Seek Collaborators to Make the Project 100% Climate Neutral
Polestar is an electric car manufacturer based in Sweden, with the astonishing goal of creating a fully climate-neutral car by 2030. Achieving this project can be done not only by planting trees somewhere in the Amazon but also by making changes to revolutionize the supply chain. For this, the company will need various partners who employ zero-emission gas techniques that increase the greenhouse effect, from raw material extraction to the engines.
What Are the Partners of the Swedish Manufacturer and Their Specialties?
Initially revealed in 2021, the plan did not receive the importance it deserved. However, Polestar is now back with eight confirmed and well-known new partners to carry out the project. According to the company’s press release, the new collaborators are Vitesco Technologies, Schloetter, Autoneum, Stora Enso, TMG Automotive, Granges, Borgstena, and Stena Aluminum.
The collaborating companies have specialties that include electric inverters, electroplating, interior and exterior materials, renewable packaging solutions, biomaterials, wood and paper construction, coatings and textiles, flat rolled aluminum, mesh materials and fabrics, and recycled aluminum. In other words, a large part of the components needed for a new car have been sourced sustainably.

The Sustainability of the Project Starts from the Raw Materials
The Swedish manufacturer’s project, called Polestar 0, plans to extract raw materials and manufacture the vehicle with zero emissions of pollutants. To achieve this, it will rely on lithium mines that do not use fossil fuels, processing plants where the furnaces do not emit toxic greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, paint factories that have zero emissions, and so on.
According to InsideEVs, Polestar continues to seek partners in raw materials, bio-based chemicals, polymers, electrical components, noble gases, and other base materials. For the company, its goal of delivering a climate-neutral car by 2030 makes signing these partnerships “critically urgent.”
Hans Pehrson, Head of the Polestar 0 Project, states: “My conviction in the success of the Polestar 0 project is reaffirmed every time we meet new collaborators. It is clear that there is immense potential to explore around the world. Achieving the seemingly impossible is never a one-man show. It is only through collective action that we can achieve the advances that truly make a difference and find the transformative solutions that go beyond the automotive industry.”
