If you are a professional looking for a job, Amazon has over 500 open positions in various areas in Brazil, with most located in São Paulo and at Amazon Web Services (AWS), the cloud services and solutions division of the big tech.

Amazon was founded by Jeff Bezos in 1994 in Seattle, United States. It entered Brazil only in 2012. Before that, it was possible to buy its products only from the brand’s U.S. site and import some items.

In its early years, Amazon sold only eBooks and the Kindle. However, in 2016, Amazon Video streaming service launched, and in 2017, the brand implemented the Marketplace on the Brazilian site, which currently offers a vast range of products.

Amazon Web Services, launched in 2003 with the goal of being a hosting service for online stores, has expanded its focus and is now a leader in the cloud computing and storage sector.

There is also Amazon Music, which offers around 70 million songs that can be played through a subscription service.

The most demanded position at Amazon right now is software developer. There are over 150 openings at all levels, from interns to senior professionals. In addition, there are over 70 open positions for software architects and another 26 vacancies for various IT and programming professionals.

Through Jeff Bezos’s big tech, it is possible to estimate an average salary for the job openings in technology, even though Amazon does not openly disclose this information on its job page.

The Glassdoor site reported that the national average salary for a software development engineer at Amazon is R$ 123,587 per year, resulting in a monthly salary of about R$ 10,000. This is a site that gathers job vacancies and allows employees to report their salaries and benefits anonymously.

According to Glassdoor data, a solutions architect, who is the IT professional responsible for aligning business goals in terms of software, platform, and infrastructure, earns an average of R$ 213,891 per year. An Amazon data center technician makes around R$ 75,000 annually. Interns receive a payment of about R$ 29,300 per year, which is a monthly salary of approximately R$ 2,400.
