Nissan’s solar roof consists of nearly nine thousand solar panels and produces enough renewable energy to power 900 homes per year. Nissan’s initiative will also significantly alleviate the CO2 emissions of the warehouse. The expectation is that the solar roof will reduce up to 1,200 tons of CO2 each year.
A Historic Milestone for the Japanese Company
With the capacity to produce about 70% of the total energy needed annually by the Nissan Motor Parts Center, the installation of the solar roof represents a historic milestone for the company, which aims for greener operations in European countries. Furthermore, the excess energy will be directed to the national energy grid of the country.
