Registration with INPI reveals progress in the project of a new retro motorcycle developed by Honda in the country. Honda 300 Café Racer may adopt an engine from the CB 300F Twister.
Honda has registered the industrial design of the new Honda 300 Café Racer in Brazil with the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI). The publication of the project at the federal agency indicates that the Japanese manufacturer is officially consolidating the concept revealed during Capital Moto Week 2024. Although the registration does not guarantee that the motorcycle will be launched commercially, the move reinforces the brand's strategy of betting on the retro-style motorcycle segment in the Brazilian market, expanding the range of products with classic appeal.
The new Honda 300 Café Racer combines traditional visual elements, such as the round headlight, wide tank with straight lines and sporty single-seater seat, with the already established mechanical base of the CB 300F Twister. The CB 300F Twister engine, a 293,5 cc single-cylinder with air cooling, delivers 24,7 horsepower at 7.500 rpm and maximum torque of 2,67 kgfm at 5.500 rpm, operating in conjunction with a six-speed manual transmission. The choice of the powertrain already known in the domestic market facilitates eventual production and maintenance processes, which could be a competitive advantage in the event of a launch.
National Café Racer style with reliable CB 300F Twister engine
The concept presented by Honda at the Capital Moto Week event sought to measure the interest of the Brazilian public in models with a retro look, but equipped with modern technology.

The new Honda 300 Café Racer maintains the compact proportions typical of this style, with details such as low handlebars, a short seat and a raised rear end. These elements are reminiscent of the custom motorcycles that emerged in the 1950s and 1960s, inspiring riders who value performance and minimalist design.
The use of the CB 300F Twister engine guarantees reliability and low maintenance costs, fundamental characteristics for the success of models in the segment of medium-displacement motorcycles in Brazil. In addition, the CB 300F Twister engine is recognized for its good torque delivery at low and medium revs, an important attribute for an urban model with a sporty proposal like the new Honda 300 Café Racer.
Official filing may indicate future plans for the retro line
The publication of the registration of the new Honda 300 Café Racer comes at a time when demand for classic-looking motorcycles is growing in Brazil and around the world. Models with retro design and modern engines, such as the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and the Meteor 350, have won over an increasingly larger audience looking for style without sacrificing mechanical reliability.
The new Honda 300 Café Racer, if it hits stores, will be able to compete directly with these options, bringing the strength of the Honda brand and the already consolidated reputation of the CB 300F Twister engine as its assets.
Another important point is that the design of the new Honda 300 Café Racer seems to follow the strategy of diversifying the brand's national line. Honda has expanded its range in Brazil in recent years, focusing not only on utility models, but also on motorcycles that cater to specific market niches, such as adventure bikes, entry-level sports bikes and now, possibly, retro bikes inspired by Café Racers.
Public acceptance will be decisive for the launch of the new Honda 300 Café Racer
So far, Honda has not officially confirmed the launch of the new Honda 300 Café Racer in Brazil, limiting itself to registering the industrial design. However, the fact that it presented the concept to the public at the country's biggest motorcycle event and now legally protects the design signals that the manufacturer is aware of the market's interests.
If the reception is positive, it is likely that Honda will decide to invest in the national production of the new Honda 300 Café Racer, using the same assembly line as the CB 300F Twister. This would allow for cost optimization and make the price competitive in relation to other options in the segment, further strengthening the brand's presence in this new niche.
The new Honda 300 Café Racer could become an alternative for motorcyclists looking for a model with a classic design, balanced performance and uncomplicated maintenance.
The proposal to combine the iconic look of the Café Racers with the proven engine of the CB 300F Twister is a combination that has the potential to attract consumers of different profiles, from young beginners to veterans who appreciate motorcycle tradition.
With the registration at INPI and the good initial acceptance of the concept, Brazil can prepare to soon receive another novelty in the competitive market of medium-displacement motorcycles.
