Honda Prepares to Launch the New Generation of Amaze, Set to Compete in the Compact Sedan Segment in India, with Sales Expected in October This Year
Honda is about to reveal the new model of one of its most anticipated sedans in the Indian market: the Honda Amaze sedan. This model, positioned below the popular City, will be launched in its third generation and promises to bring several improvements compared to the current version. The launch is scheduled for October this year, and the new generation of Amaze will be a significant step in the brand’s portfolio in the compact sedan segment, according to Auto Mais TV.
Shared Platform with the City
According to information from Autocar India, the new Honda Amaze sedan will use the same platform as the City, but with some important differences. Although the Amaze shares its base with its larger sibling, it will remain smaller, featuring a reduced wheelbase of 2.60 meters, compared to 2.65 meters of the City. However, the new model brings a considerable improvement over its predecessor, with a 13 cm increase in wheelbase compared to the current generation, which has 2.47 meters. This growth promises to offer a more spacious and comfortable interior for occupants.
New Honda: 1.2L Naturally Aspirated Gasoline Engine
Besides the platform, the new Amaze is expected to share several components with the City and other Honda models available in India. This strategy aims to reduce production and maintenance costs, allowing Honda to offer a more competitive vehicle in the market. The new Amaze’s interior is expected to feature shared elements with the Honda Elevate, a compact SUV also sold as WR-V in other markets, which may eventually reach Brazil.
