CHINESE ELECTRIC SUV PROMISES REVOLUTIONARY BATTERY – CREDITS: busines automotive

Despite the evolution of technologies, it is still difficult to make charging an electric car's batteries similar to filling a gas tank, but the Chinese innovated and managed to charge a model in just 8 minutes.

Despite the issue of autonomy being resolved step by step, another major problem with electric cars is waiting for the battery to be fully recharged for several minutes and even hours, which is not as agile as filling the tank. of a gasoline car. It was with this in mind that the Chinese created a new electric car capable of making this problem go away.

The electric car consumes 481 kW from the charger even at 80%

While there are still issues, battery charging speeds are being improved, charging times are decreasing and China's next electric car can be recharged in a time similar to filling a tank of gas.

The electric car is the GAC Aion V SUV, which will hit China's car market next month. According to cnvepost, which was present at the event where the electric car charging test was carried out.

During a demonstration held at the end of last month, the electric car that was connected to a charger showed super fast charging that can be compared with a gasoline car. Even at 80% battery charging the model was still consuming 481 kW from the charger and adding 35,1 kWh to the battery in just 4 minutes.

Other models from China also demonstrate surprising results.

The numbers still need to be verified independently and are only valid for the 6C model of the Aion V, which also has an incredible range, which can almost compare to that of a gasoline-powered vehicle of 1.000 km on a single charge.

There is also the 3C version of the model that has a range of 500 km, but its versions do not have such high battery charging speeds. The Chinese automaker claims that even if the electric car's battery is constantly charged to its maximum capacity, it will last for a million kilometers before needing to be replaced.

The new charging models, which can be compared to gasoline cars, will be independently launched and tested to verify the super fast charging speeds.

Porsche plans to produce super-fast batteries

Sports and luxury model maker Porsche aims to make batteries for electric cars that are smaller, more efficient and stronger compared to the batteries used in today's automotive market.

The company's yet-to-be-developed new battery design for electric cars will help the automaker deliver on its 2018 promise of a battery that can recharge in less than 15 minutes. According to Oliver Blume, CEO of the brand, Porsche's Performance Plus type batteries and fast chargers allow charging its model, Taycan, in just 22,5 minutes.
