The State Health Foundation of Maricá (Femar), in Rio de Janeiro, is preparing a new contest with over 1,500 positions for high school and higher education with a reserve list in various positions. The announcement for the Maricá RJ contest is in its final stages and will be published later this month. The exams are scheduled for December and January 2024, depending on the position.
What Positions Are Available for High School and Higher Education Candidates?
The information and deadlines have been released by the Academic Selection Coordination of the Federal Fluminense University (Coseac UFF), hired as the organizing committee for the Femar Contest. The coordination will be responsible for receiving the applications and administering the selection exams.
Only the positions for high school and higher education in the roles of community health agent and endemic disease agent are confirmed at this first moment. The list of other positions in the Maricá RJ contest has yet to be published, along with salaries, complete requirements, and specialties.

The preparations for the contest of the State Health Foundation of Maricá began in June when the organizing committee of the selection was formed. The group consists of three staff members who are responsible for defining the positions, vacancies for high school and higher education, as well as drafting the announcement.
With the new Femar contest, the foundation aims to modernize and enhance responses to the city’s health demands, having autonomy in management. Currently, part of the health management is outsourced through social organizations.

The community health agent plays a crucial role in basic health care, focusing on health promotion, disease prevention, and education in households and communities.
This professional uses tools for demographic and sociocultural diagnosis, mobilizes the community, and encourages participation in public policies related to health and socio-educational areas.
The endemic disease agents act as mediators in basic health care and are often the primary access point to health programs, disease prevention, and quality of life for people living in underprivileged or more remote communities, through home visits or community actions.
It is worth noting that the last Femar contest was held in 2018. At that time, over 600 positions were made available for high school and higher education in different areas of Municipal Administration.
There were opportunities for the positions of nursing technician, physiotherapist, nurse, speech therapist, and nutritionist. Candidates were evaluated through objective and essay tests. The objective questions covered Portuguese Language, Logical Reasoning, and Specific Knowledge for each position.
