About BI Energia
BI Energia is one of the pioneers in investing in offshore wind farms in Brazil. Currently, the company has a project in Ceará, which began in 2016, for the installation of 59 towers, at a cost of 1 billion euros. Business leaders expect that the experience with the project in Ceará will help expedite the process in Rio Grande do Norte.
The project for the Potiguar coast envisions a wind farm covering 300 km², with 52 wind turbines of 12 MW of installed power (totaling a park of 624 MW). Two electrical substations will also be constructed; one offshore for voltage elevation and one onshore for transition. According to the company, the expected wind energy production is forecasted at 3,154,805.6 MWh per year (3.1 thousand GWh/year).
