BYD Plug-In Hybrid SUV Arrives in Brazil With Higher Capacity Battery and Significant Improvements
BYD is launching the Brazilian market the Song Plus 2025, its only hybrid plug-in currently available in the country. The midsize SUV arrives with several new features, including a higher capacity battery that allows the vehicle to drive up to 105 kilometers in pure electric mode, more than double the previous range, according to the Webmotors website.
The Song Plus 2025 hybrid SUV does not have significant visual changes but brings substantial improvements to its mechanics. In addition to the 18.3 kWh battery, the SUV retains the powertrain combination of a electric motor with a 1.5 four-cylinder gasoline engine. With this configuration, the hybrid vehicle accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds and can travel up to 1,200 kilometers on a single tank of fuel.

Among the new features of the Song Plus 2025 hybrid are a multimedia system with a larger 15.6-inch screen, an electrochromic interior mirror, and the ability to unlock the car via NFC card or smartphone NFC.

BYD also announced changes to the warranty of its vehicles in Brazil. The total factory warranty increases from five years or 200,000 kilometers to six years and no mileage limit. The battery warranty remains at eight years, with no mileage limit, and the coverage for high and low voltage systems has also been extended to six years.
With these updates, the BYD Song Plus 2025 promises to offer Brazilian consumers a more efficient plug-in hybrid SUV, with greater electric range and extended warranty, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to innovation and quality in its products.
