Produced by the Belarusian manufacturer BelAZ, the 75710 truck has the capacity to carry 450 tons of loads distributed over its eight tires. In addition, the giant truck is 20.6 meters long, 8.16 meters high, and 9.87 meters wide. However, we do not see this colossus BelAz 75710 on the roads for a simple reason: it is simply gigantic.

Before reaching a total weight of 360 tons, the BelAZ 75710 is sold disassembled. This giant not only holds records for its impressive size but also has the title of having the largest tires in the world, a curiosity that may not have crossed your mind until now.

Although it is not the most expensive truck in the world, acquiring the BelAZ 75710 comes with a high price, costing around US$ 7.5 million, equivalent to approximately R$ 38 million. Before the emergence of this vehicle, which today has a total operational weight of 810 tons, other iconic models had already set benchmarks in terms of load capacity.

Among these former record-holders is the Caterpillar 797 F, with a gross total weight of 687 tons and a payload capacity of 364 tons, measuring 14.8 meters in length, 6.2 meters in height, and 9.75 meters in width.

Giant Truck Belaz 75710 Delivers Up To 2,300 Horsepower

The giant truck Belaz 75710 was launched in 2013 and the brand that built it Belaruski Autamabilnv Zavod was founded in 1948 and is currently one of the largest manufacturers in the world of large special trucks, as well as other products for the mining and construction sectors.

To transfer all its load to the ground, the truck has only two axles, both steerable, each with four tires, which is a record in itself, and weigh over 5 tons each. The suspension is independent for the front and rear wheels with oil and hydrogen hydropneumatic cylinders with a volume of 125.8 L each.

To move the largest truck in the world, the powertrain combines two large diesel engines and four electric motors. The engines are of the MTU DD 16V4000 model – 16-cylinder V turbo intercooler of 65 liters. These engines are also used in some ships, each generating a maximum power of 2,300 horsepower at 1,900 RPM, as well as 950 kgfm of torque.

Largest Truck In The World Consumes 13 L Per Km

The consumption of each of the Belaz 75710 engines is enormous, with an expenditure of approximately 425L per hour of operation. Thus, the  largest truck in the world has two tanks with a capacity of 2,800 L each. With all its weight, the vehicle has a maximum speed of 64 km/h, but normally operates in the range of 40 km/h. The consumption of the model is approximately 13L per km.

To cool the enormous engines, the cooling system has a capacity of 890 L, with a pre-heating system to facilitate cold starts and also has independent lubrication systems for each engine. Its braking capacity is also impressive, as each dual wheel has double discs cooled with oil with triple calipers installed on the axles of the electric motors.
