Satellite Images Reveal Advancements in Oxagon, Floating Port Megaproject in Saudi Arabia That Promises to Revolutionize Commerce Between Three Continents.
Recent satellite images have revealed the rapid progress in the construction of Oxagon, a floating industrial complex that is part of the Neom project in Saudi Arabia.
Considered the largest construction site in the world, Oxagon emerges as the centerpiece of the Saudi government’s Vision 2030, a strategic plan to reduce the economic dependence on oil.

Strategic Location Drives Project
Oxagon is being built in the Red Sea, a region of global strategic importance.

Federal Police involved in the case to identify the person responsible for hacking the Civil Defense system, which sent ten false alerts, frightened residents of different capitals, and turned messages about real risks into notifications with “misanthropy” and even alien attacks.

Extreme drought causes ghost village to reappear at the bottom of the reservoir that supplies Athens, revealing houses, a school, and ruins swallowed since the 1980s as the lake shrinks and exposes the water crisis threatening the capital of Greece.

An entire village lay asleep at the bottom of a lake for 3,000 years: divers suction sediments in Italy and reveal more than 600 wooden stakes, bronze tools, and traces of a Bronze Age settlement hidden underwater.

They call it the “Shopee house” and even cardboard, but the R$ 20,000 house is a certified Wood Frame from Alea, financed by Minha Casa Minha Vida: understand if it’s worth more than masonry.
This location places the port directly on one of the busiest maritime routes on the planet, connecting Asia, Africa, and Europe through the Suez Canal.
The geographical position provides Oxagon with important commercial advantages, facilitating the flow of goods between continents.

First Automated Cranes Arrived
Progress is not limited to construction. Recently, the Neom Port received its first fully automated cranes controlled remotely, a milestone for port modernization in Saudi Arabia.
The Neom company itself announced the arrival of the equipment on its LinkedIn page, highlighting the boost this will bring to trade, automation, and the creation of technology jobs in the country.
Melissa Blake, port director of Neom, expressed excitement: “Neom Port is thrilled to receive the first batch of cranes and other cargo handling equipment as we take another step closer to realizing our vision.”

Industrial City Will Be Powered by Renewable Energy
Oxagon will not only be a port but also an innovative industrial city. The plan envisions that all operations will be powered exclusively by renewable energy, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s commitment to sustainable technologies.
The city aims to house around 90,000 residents by 2030, as stipulated in Vision 2030.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman emphasized, in 2021, the strategic role of Oxagon: “It will contribute to Saudi Arabia’s regional trade and support the creation of a new focal point for global trade flows,” he stated to the Al-Arabiya portal.
Billion-Dollar Green Hydrogen Project Under Development
In addition to the port complex, the Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC), linked to Neom, is building the largest green hydrogen facility in the world within Oxagon.
The investment reaches US$ 8.4 billion, aiming to make the site a benchmark for clean energy.
Oxagon’s CEO, Vishal Wanchoo, emphasized the balance sought in the project: “Industrial development cannot continue at the expense of people or the environment. We are offering a compact, mixed-use city where industry, nature, and community coexist.”
Neom Port is planned to become the main commercial gateway of northwestern Saudi Arabia.
The expectation is that the smart logistics center will quickly connect Asia, Europe, and Africa, enhancing Saudi Arabia’s role in global trade.
Meanwhile, construction continues at an accelerated pace, with satellite images capturing the ongoing advancements of the massive floating structure.
