Ocyan’s Offshore Maintenance and Services Area in Macaé is the Main Responsible for Hiring, Confirming the Success of the Program
Ocyan’s Young Apprentice Program (formerly Odebrecht Oil and Gas) is consolidating itself as an excellent trainer and workforce capacitor for the Oil and Gas market in the city of Macaé and surrounding areas.
The initiative from Ocyan, which has already recorded 500 applicants since the beginning of the Young Apprentice program in partnership with SENAI, has already resulted in 81 hires, which only proves its success.
The last two hires have already started working in Ocyan’s Offshore Maintenance and Services (OMS) area in Macaé.
According to the director of Ocyan’s offshore maintenance and services area, Vinicius Castilho, the program is beneficial for both the company and the youth, “We are concerned with developing the skills of each of them for the job market and contributing to the professional growth of these young people. We have been operating this way for three years, since we changed the format of the program in the OMS area. Whenever possible, we end up hiring those who stand out the most,” said the director.

The program consists of theoretical classes and is followed by dynamics and activities to identify each participant’s profile. After that, they are directed to the areas identified in their profile and are already working alongside the members.
Vinicius also emphasized that the young participants undergo monthly evaluations by their leaders and at the end of the course must present an innovation project for Ocyan that may even be implemented.
What the Young People Think
The young hires so far from Ocyan’s program take pride when they see one of their projects being implemented in the company, and the two most recent hires work in the contractual administration area, while the other is in the Pipe Shop.
A new group of young apprentices has already been opened, and Ocyan wants to continue reaping the benefits of the program. To apply, the young people must be between 8 and 24 years old and possess a complete high school education.
