Marking Its New Business Phase, Odebrecht Secures a Mega Contract for Modernization Works at a Port in the United States

The American branch of Odebrecht Engineering & Construction won a tender for infrastructure works that will enable the modernization of the Port of Miami. The US$ 34.8 million project plans for the construction of the new structure required for the use of the electric rubber-tired gantry crane (eRTG) to optimize and consolidate container storage. Ultimately, the project will allow for the revitalization of 20 acres of port property for the future construction of two new cruise terminals.

The infrastructure improvements include the installation of cranes that provide up to 40% more container movements, new concrete lanes, pavement marking and signage, drainage, structures for refrigerated racks, and their respective foundations.

Odebrecht also secured a contract to carry out works at the Santa Cruz thermoelectric plant in Rio de Janeiro, pending some environmental and bureaucratic deliberations to start the project.
