Amazon Military Command Intensifies Actions Against Crimes in the Forest and Reinforces Presence in Strategic Border Regions, With Million-Dollar Seizures and Support for Indigenous Communities
The Brazilian Army has increased its presence on the borders of Western Amazon and recorded, only in the first quarter of 2025, an impact of R$ 143.2 million in seizures and losses to crimes. The operations are conducted by the Amazon Military Command (CMA) in difficult-to-access regions, reinforcing the fight against illegal mining, drug trafficking, smuggling, and environmental crimes.
Integrated Actions in Four Amazon States
More than 4,200 military personnel participated in the actions, carried out in strategic points of the states of Acre, Amazonas, Rondônia, and Roraima.
The operations were supported by land, river, and air logistics, in addition to cooperation between the Army and agencies such as the Federal Police, IBAMA, ICMBio, FUNAI, PRF, National Force, and state secretariats.
