The Brazilian Northeast Prepares to Host the 1st Edition of the Oil & Gas Summit: Equatorial Margin and Energy Transition, Highlighting the Region as a Strategic Hub in Diversifying the Energy Matrix Focused on Solar Energy, Wind Energy, Green Hydrogen (H2V), Oil and Gas, and Other Renewable Sources.
The energy transition is gaining momentum in the Brazilian Northeast, with a significant focus on solar energy, wind energy, Green Hydrogen (H2V), oil and gas, and other renewable energy sources. The 1st Edition of the Oil & Gas Summit: Equatorial Margin and Energy Transition will be held from March 19 to 21, 2025, at the Ceará Events Center in Fortaleza-CE, highlighting the region’s importance in the national energy landscape.
The event, which will bring together key market players, expects to attract over 50,000 visitors over the three days of the fair. Among the main discussion topics will be the potential of the North and Northeast to become important development hubs for the industry, boosting job creation and income while diversifying the energy matrix with a focus on solar and wind energy, in addition to Green Hydrogen (H2V).
“The potential of Green Hydrogen in generating jobs and income in the Northeast is immense. By discussing this energy source at the Oil & Gas Summit, we are opening doors to the future. It is crucial for the region to leverage these natural resources and local expertise to drive an emerging industry like this,” explains Carlos Logulo, organizer of the Summit.

In Brazil, several regions show interest in the H2V industry, with the Northeast standing out due to its high installed capacity and potential. States like Ceará, Bahia, Pernambuco, Piauí, and Rio Grande do Norte already have announced projects in the area. The Equatorial Margin, covering territories in Piauí, Rio Grande do Norte, and Ceará, generates expectations for new opportunities for jobs and income through sustainable exploration that unites oil, gas, and renewable energies.
“The discussion about Green Hydrogen at the Summit will stimulate sustainable development in the Northeast, with suggestions in the areas of infrastructure, logistics, and the legal framework of the sector,” concludes Carlos Logulo.
Moreover, Petrobras plays a crucial role in this scenario, being one of the largest energy companies in the world, focused on the exploration, production, and refining of oil and gas. With the change in the management of the state-owned company, the new presidency promises to intensify efforts in the energy transition and the development of renewable energy sources. This alignment with global trends reinforces the importance of events like the Oil & Gas Summit, which promote debate and the implementation of innovative solutions for Brazil’s energy future and, especially, that of the Northeast.
