Platform 99 Is Renting Natural Gas Vehicle (NGV) Conversion Kits for R$ 329 Monthly, Allowing Its Partners to Try Before Paying for Installation
With the constant rise in fuel prices, using Natural Gas Vehicles (NGV) is an alternative found by many app drivers. On paper, using this fuel can yield savings of up to 50% compared to gasoline or other fuels while driving in the city of São Paulo. However, many professionals still do not feel secure enough to pay an initial installation cost of R$ 5,000. Therefore, “99” has launched a new initiative to rent NGV conversion kits to app drivers’ cars for just R$ 329 per month.

Platform 99 Promotes Natural Gas Use by Renting Conversion Kits
The goal is to encourage the use of Natural Gas Vehicles while ensuring that before making the initial investment, app drivers assess whether the fuel is really worth it, considering a slight loss of power, the need for kit maintenance, and reduced trunk space.
According to calculations, the installation of the equipment promoted by “99” can generate, depending on the car model, savings of R$ 1,500 per month for app drivers who drive 5,000 km monthly. This is because NGV provides better mileage than other fuels. With natural gas vehicles in São Paulo, it costs an average of R$ 0.30 per kilometer driven for app drivers. In contrast, gasoline costs R$ 0.64 per kilometer, which is basically double the price of Natural Gas Vehicles (NGV).

“99” Comments on the GNV Use Initiative
The Director of Operations and Products at “99,” Livia Pozzi, stated that the company is testing various ways to deal with rising fuel costs. The company believes in building solutions alongside its partners, which is why it will test the project’s feasibility in collaboration with app drivers.
“99” also hopes that the initiative will provide real benefits, with advantages and savings for those driving on the platform. In addition to being more economical, Natural Gas Vehicles are a more sustainable fuel than gasoline and reduce the emission of polluting gases into the atmosphere.
How to Sign Up for the “99” Initiative and Get Conversion Kits?
