Petrobras reports that employees’ family members will also be tested, following the company’s procedure.
“In respect of privacy and medical confidentiality, Petrobras does not disclose individual information about employees, which should remain restricted to health professionals”, the company stated in a note.
The PXA-1 and PXA-2 platforms in Ceará have halted production. The staffing of the units was reduced by half to only attend to maintenance and preservation activities.
All precautions have been taken and, due to suspected cases, the entire team was disembarked and directed for medical attention and testing.
As a precaution, the state-owned company is also testing all employees of the PAT-3 platform, also located in the Xaréu field.
Petrobras in the Fight Against Coronavirus
The company reaffirms that it has spared no effort to combat the new coronavirus, which affects not only the company but the entire country and the world. The company is responsible for providing essential services, such as the supply of fuels and energy that power ambulances, hospitals, and cargo and transport vehicles.
Thus, it has adopted measures to protect the health of its employees, mitigate the spread of the virus within the company, and ensure the safe continuity of essential activities for the entire Brazilian society.
The measures taken by Petrobras are among the most stringent adopted in the oil sector. We also work with service-providing companies to ensure that the same measures are implemented.
