Three of them are located in Camaçari, in the state of Bahia (Polo Camaçari UTEs). The other plant is dual-fuel (diesel oil or natural gas) and is located in Canoas, in Rio Grande do Sul (Canoas UTE).

“Those qualified for the binding phase will receive an invitation letter with detailed instructions on the divestment process, including guidelines for conducting due diligence and submitting binding proposals,” the company said in a statement.

“This announcement is in accordance with Petrobras’ divestment guidelines and as a special divestment regime for assets by federal mixed-economy companies,” the company adds.

“These operations are aligned with the strategy of optimizing the portfolio and improving the capital allocation of the company, aiming to maximize value for its shareholders,” the note adds.

The Thermoelectric Plants

The Polo Camaçari UTEs are assets of Petrobras and include the Arembepe, Bahia 1, and Muricy plants, with a total installed capacity of 329 MW.

The plants operate with fuel oil and have the potential for conversion to natural gas operations.

The Canoas UTE is an asset of Petrobras and has an installed capacity of 249 MW.

“As the plant is dual-fuel, it therefore has potential operational gains with the expected expansion of the gas pipeline network and/or new regasification terminals,” the state-controlled company adds.
