The information was given by the company's president, Roberto Castello Branco, when projecting that the deal could take place by the beginning of 2021.
At the beginning of this month, the executive said that Petrobras was interested in selling its stake in Braskem and that the Petrobras has the support of Odebrecht to sell the petrochemicals
"We believe it will be feasible by the end of the year, if not, at the beginning of next year, selling this stake", said Castello Branco, while participating in a live broadcast by Genial Investimentos.
The way to make the divestment viable involves Braskem's migration to the Stock Exchange's Novo Mercado, with the conversion of all the company's shares into ordinary shares, which is already the subject of talks between Petrobras and Odebrecht, the state-owned partner in the petrochemical company and holder of 50,1 .XNUMX% of voting shares.
“It doesn't make any sense for Petrobras to be a partner in Braskem. First, Petrobras is not an investment fund. We don't operate Braskem, we only have a shareholding”, pointed out Castello, when justifying the divestment.
Petrobras fuel pricing policy
Despite not being questioned about pressures on its pricing policy, the president of Petrobras defended during the live broadcast that, before the most recent increases, Petrobras had been sharply reducing prices at refineries in the face of the drop in oil on the international market, on the move that was not accompanied by the posts.
“With regard to gas stations, there is nothing that Petrobras can do… it is outside our scope, we are not a regulatory agency. This is the role of Cade (Administrative Council for Economic Defense), Petrobras is just one company”, he said.
After the cycle of price reductions, Petrobras announced three consecutive readjustments for gasoline, with an increase of 38% in May alone. The company also announced the first high of the year for diesel, of 8%.
