Sale of Fuel Oil Power Plants in Bahia Is Part of Petrobras’ Investment Plan in Deep and Ultra-Deep Oil Exploration and Production Projects
Petrobras announced last night (12/06) in a relevant fact to the market that it has completed the sale of three fuel oil power plants located in Camaçari, Bahia (UTEs Polo Camaçari), to São Francisco Energia, a subsidiary of Global Participações em Energia (GPE).

According to Petrobras’ statement, after meeting the precedent conditions, the transaction was completed with a payment of R$ 61 million to the state-owned company, already considering the adjustments provided for in the sales contract.
About the Power Plants
The power plants, UTEs Polo Camaçari, are Petrobras assets and include the Arembepe, Bahia 1, and Muricy plants, with a total installed capacity of 329 MW. The plants operate with fuel oil and have energy marketing contracts in the regulated market valid until December 2023 for the Arembepe and Muricy UTEs and until December 2025 for the UTE Bahia 1.

It has extensive experience in the operation of fuel oil power plants, making the acquisition of the Arembepe, Muricy, and Bahia 1 UTEs strategic in expanding its generation asset portfolio, especially in Bahia, where it already operates two similar plants.
