The plant will be able to generate 400 to 500 Megawatts of wind energy, and it is expected to be operational by 2024. The plant will be located between the municipalities of Buriti dos Lopes and Bom Princípio do Piauí in the northern part of the state. Investments will range from R$ 1.2 to R$ 1.5 billion. The hiring of local workers will be a priority, which will boost the generation of over 600 jobs.
“In addition to addressing the pandemic, we are working on the goal of attracting investments. Celeo is already involved in an investment of approximately R$ 1 billion with the power line that comes from Maranhão, passes through Piripiri, and heads toward Ceará. There is an investment in solar energy generation in São João do Piauí, producing 200 MW and generating jobs, and now, they announced a new investment in two sites, one also in São João do Piauí for 224 MW, and the other in the Buriti dos Lopes region. Clean energy is a priority in Piauí, and Celeo is an important partner; we will continue to generate jobs and income, a goal of PRO Piauí,” stated Wellington.

The Plant as a Center for Generating New Jobs for Piauí Residents
According to Howzembergson de Brito, Director of Renewable Energies at Seminper, this project is still in the licensing phase at the Secretary of State for the Environment and Water Resources (Semar) but aims for success after the completion of the works.
“Piauí continues to attract investments in energy, and new projects will be installed. This is already a reality in our state. These investments generate jobs and boost the economy in the regions where they are implemented,” emphasized Brito.
