The Ship From Brazil Stopped In Spain Was Transporting About 32 Kg Of Cocaine And Was Stopped By The Police In The Canary Islands In December
In December, in Las Palmas, Canary Islands, the Spanish Civil Guard seized about 32 kilograms of cocaine that were hidden in the hull of a ship from Brazil. The amount found by the police in Spain was valued at over 1 million euros, approximately over 6 million reais, stored in packages beneath the ship.
The information is that the Civil Guard has, in recent months, been closely monitoring the ships that dock at Puerto de la Luz, in the capital of Gran Canaria, which are known to come from the “hot routes.”
According to sources from the Spanish police, the “hot routes” are used by drug traffickers to smuggle cocaine into Europe. The drug found on the ship in Spain required divers from the Special Underwater Activities Group of Spain (GEAS) due to its location.

Without concrete, without traditional cleaning, and without common separation, a block made of recycled plastic transforms problematic waste into a rigid piece for walls and structures.

How Does Ship Inspection Work?
Seized Cargo
Shortly after the drug was removed from the ship by the police, a rapid test confirmed that the substance found on the ship was indeed cocaine and, due to its quality, could be sold for millions of euros in the Spanish market.
The police process and also the cocaine seized from the ship will be available to the on-duty investigating court in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, according to a statement from the police to the press in Spain. In the seizure, the police acted with the collaboration of the Fiscal and Border Section of the Civil Guard of Puerto de la Luz along with the Customs Surveillance of the Tax Agency of Las Palmas.
In addition to this seizure, in August 2022, about 200 kg of cocaine were also seized in the hull of a ship that stopped in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, during a corn transport between Brazil and Portugal.
