Trump defended the transaction as an opportunity to replace the current Air Force One, which is nearly 40 years old.

In a statement on social media, he claimed it would be a “temporary gift” intended for the U.S. Department of Defense. The former president emphasized that the operation would be transparent and did not directly mention Qatar.

However, the publication did not clarify whether there would be any counterparty. Trump took the opportunity to criticize the Democrats, stating that they want to take advantage of the situation, and reiterated that the new plane is necessary and modern.

Legal and Diplomatic Issues

A spokesperson for the Qatari Embassy in the U.S. described the information as “inaccurate.” In a statement, Ali al Ansari indicated that negotiations are ongoing between the Ministries of Defense of Qatar and the United States, but that no final decision has been made so far.
