More Than 1,800 Vacancies Will Be Offered by the Federal Institute of Mato Grosso do Sul for Those Who Complete Elementary School and Want to Take High School Integrated with Free Technical Courses in Different Professional Areas.
The Federal Institute of Mato Grosso do Sul (IFMS) will make available 1,840 vacancies for those who complete the 9th grade and wish to take high school alongside professional training, in a free technical high school regime.
The enrollment of approved candidates is scheduled for January 2026 and depends on the completion of elementary school and the presentation of the CPF in the candidate’s name.
Half of the vacancies follow the legal reserve for graduates from public schools, and there are specific quotas for low-income individuals, black, brown, indigenous, quilombola, and people with disabilities.

The selection will be made through a objective test with 30 questions, evenly divided among Portuguese Language, Mathematics, and General Knowledge, on a date to be announced.
Where Are the Vacancies and What Courses
The opportunities are distributed among the campuses of Aquidauana, Campo Grande, Corumbá, Coxim, Dourados, Jardim, Naviraí, Nova Andradina, Ponta Porã, and Três Lagoas, with classes in the morning and afternoon, according to each unit.
Among the options, IFMS offers: Administration, Agriculture, Food, Agronomy, Systems Development, Construction, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Internet Computing, Mechanics, and Metallurgy.
Upon completion, the student receives two certifications: one for high school completion and one for the technical field chosen.
Who Can Participate
Only those who complete the 9th grade of elementary school by January 2026 and have their own CPF can compete.
In addition, 50% of the vacancies are reserved for those who studied entirely in public schools, and the rest for those who attended part or all of the cycle in private institutions.
The specific quotas cover ethnic-racial, income, and disability criteria, following current legislation.
What Differentiates the Integrated Model
The free technical high school in the integrated format combines general and professional training in the same shift, over three years.
The regular subjects — such as Portuguese, Mathematics, and Humanities — are taught alongside technical content, such as Administrative Routines, Fundamentals of Programming, Applied Electricity, or Technical Drawing, depending on the course.
The model increases the workload, but allows graduates to leave high school ready to enter the job market, without any tuition costs.
There are also opportunities for research projects, extension, and internships, enhancing the curriculum and employability.
Which Courses Match Each Profile
If the interest is in technology, Computer Science and Systems Development teach programming, networks, and infrastructure.
For those who prefer planning and construction, Construction is a promising path.
Industrial areas such as Mechanics and Metallurgy train professionals for maintenance and production processes.
The agribusiness sector has a solid foundation in Agriculture, Agronomy, and Food.
Administration caters to those seeking management and entrepreneurship.
For those who enjoy energy and installations, Electrical Engineering is the ideal choice. All these courses are part of the set of integrated technical courses at IFMS.
How the Test Will Be
The exam will have 30 objective questions, with 10 from Portuguese Language, 10 from Mathematics, and 10 from General Knowledge.
The program content is in the Annex X of the notice.
Previous tests and answer keys are available on the official site of the Selection Exam 2026, a useful resource to simulate and plan studies.
