The Intersolar Awards Distinguish the Pioneering Renewable Energy Project by (re)energisa
The Vila Restauração, in Acre, had its innovative solar energy project, developed by (re)energisa, highlighted on the international stage by winning the prestigious Intersolar Awards. This project brought environmental, economic, and social benefits to over 200 families in the region and stood out for its high degree of technological innovation.
(re)energisa Stands Out Among the Finalists of the Intersolar Awards
The (re)energisa project stood out among the seven finalists of the competition, being the only one originating south of the equator. The award, granted by the Intersolar Awards, celebrates remarkable projects involving the generation, use, or intelligent integration of renewable energies.
“This award indicates that the Energisa Group is heading in the right direction and proves that Brazilian companies can develop innovative and globally renowned projects using renewable sources. Besides all the technology and infrastructure created to provide quality energy to an isolated community, the Vila Restauração project has a strong social appeal. Now, families have access to clean, affordable, and continuous energy in their homes, which opens up many possibilities for the residents”, comments Frederico Botelho, Business Development Coordinator at Energisa.

Renewable Energy Revolution Transforms Life in Vila Restauração
Since 2021, the lives of the residents of Vila Restauração have drastically changed as they gained access to electricity 24 hours a day. Previously, the community only had power for three hours a day, coming from a diesel engine, which was much more polluting.
The (re)energisa project introduced a hybrid system composed of 580 photovoltaic solar panels and an energy storage system with lithium batteries, along with two generators powered by locally produced palm oil-derived biofuel. When the batteries are low, the generators automatically kick in.
To ensure the long-term sustainability of the project, a digital payment system was established with a limit on energy consumption per family. By addressing the critical energy issue of residents efficiently, sustainably, and economically, the Vila Restauração project promotes economic and social development in the region, creating a model that can be replicated in other similar locations.
